Energy Performance Certificates (EPC's) and Home Information Packs (HIP's) are being provided for properties throughout Leicestershire including Leicester City, Loughborough, Hinckley, Oadby, Wigston, Market Harborough, Blaby, Shepshed, Ashby, Oakham, Rutland, Melton Mowbray, Syston, Birstall, Glenfield, Lutterworth, Narborough, Enderby and a little farther afield.

Why needed?

Landlords, letting agents, estate agents, private individuals in Leicester all need to make sure that an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is available if a property is to be let or sold. Since 1^st October 2008 for letting purposes, the EPC is valid for up to 10 years. If it is for sale purposes the EPC is valid for a maximum 3 years.

The Energy Performance Certificate requirement was introduced under the Housing Act 2004 and properties to be sold also need a Home Information Pack (HIP) Pack to include evidence of title and all legal searches.
